Lloyd Smith A former junior club champion at Royal Troon and Ayrshire boys county player, Lloyd is completing studies in Architecture and will escort some groups during the summer season.
Andy Machen Andy has been involved in the golf business as the proprietor of one of Nairn’s foremost golf hotels, involvement in Golf Highland and a golf travel company in Spain following his previous career in the police force in London. These decades of public service and keen golf participation worldwide make him a world-class host.
Glen Tebbutt Glen has a position as a logistics manager in France in his background in addition to seven years as a London chauffeur working for one of the Rulers of a Middle Eastern Emirate. He is a keen golfer and fantastic host with widespread knowledge of all areas of the British Isles and continental Europe.
Craig Hutcheson Craig recently moved back to his native Troon from Newcastle where for many years he was involved in a highly successful office supply business having taken up that new challenge following his first career as a PGA Professional.
Pete Browne Pete began his career with the Post Office and followed this with a second career in transport which he has over 25 years experience in, the last eleven with McLaren Travel, and has a unique knowledge of the routes, hotels and golf courses of the British Isles.
Douglas Allison Douglas spent his banking career from 1968 to 2012 with RBS in Crieff, Dundee, Tain, Thurso, Edinburgh, Irvine, Paisley, Greenock and Ayr. A former President of the Rotary Club of Troon, Douglas still plays a very active role in the organisation alongside his love for golf, cycling, hill walking, tennis and motoring so has delighted McLaren clients with his knowledge of how to deliver a great experience across a range of pursuits.
Davie Gibson Davie spent a great deal of time in Aberdeen but has been a resident of Troon for over 25 years, is a single figure golfer and former publican, and has escorted groups for McLaren Travel for over 14 years. His knowledge of Scotland and Ireland’s tourism product is second to none and clients are in good hands with Davie at the helm.
Keith McFarlane Keith has retired from his business of Architecture and is a keen ski instructor in both Scotland and Europe in the winter and golfs at Pitfirne Golf Club, Dunfermline in the summer. Through his entertaining Architectural colleagues from the U.S. and as a former Rotary President who looks after visiting golfers from Rotary Clubs across the world, his past concierge duties in both skiing and golf will ensure the client is well looked after.
Andrew Harding Andrew is a resident of Troon and grew up playing golf in the town from an early age, now playing his golf at Prestwick St.Nicholas Golf Club. He enjoyed two successful careers in finance, both of luxury vehicles and as an IFA, and brings excellent lifetime experience of outstanding customer care.
Charlie Birrell Charlie moved to Troon some twenty years ago from Edinburgh where his memberships have included two of the countries most executive golf clubs in the city and East Lothian. His background of holding senior positions in both banking and media mean he brings with him many years of meeting or exceeding client expectations with his very amiable personality.
David Steele David retired recently after many years as a journalist in Glasgow and the West of Scotland and still keeps ‘his hand in’ giving PR advice to Police Scotland. A Rotarian and member of Royal Troon Golf Club, he brings a great deal of people skills to the job of concierge.
Gordon McKinlay Retired recently after 44 years as a golf professional; the last 27 as Head Professional at Troon Links. His extensive experience of looking after golfers and tourists from around the globe makes him a great recent addition to the McLaren team.
Dominic Macari Dominic spent many years with RBS as a manager and in resources taking care of people, which we look forward to him doing for McLaren clients. A 5-handicap golfer at Irvine Golf Club, Dominic has held roles also at at Haggs Castle and Royal Troon Golf Clubs.
Ken Thomson Ken is a former member of Dulwich & Sydenham, in London, and Turnberry golf clubs. Presently a single figure golfer at East Renfrewshire and Western Gailes, Ken had a successful career in the electrical and car industries.
